i loved this product for the first 14 months, until it started spontaneously turning itself off and on. i had to keep it unplugged until the repair techs came to swap out the one connect box. now 16 months after purchase i'm having the same problem. the repair techs had to come out again and tell me it's the panel or the main board, estimating the cost to fix at over $1800. this is more than the tv cost in the first place. and of course it's not covered by the warranty. i couldn't be more disappointed in this product, or the service i've received trying to fix it.

the tv is a pleasant product to use... until it stops working only 3 months after the warranty ends. very frustrating, and i'll probably have to pay for a new tv.

background: other than its design, there isn't much going for this tv. 1. picture quality: compared to its much cheaper rivals, the picture quality is generally disappointing. there is almost zero visibility when the tv is viewed from a different angle. 2. ui: there is generally a lag when switching among different modes/apps, with a frequent disconnect from the wi-fi (had no wi-fi issue with our previous tv). 3. major flaw: this may be due to the tv's auto on/off function when in art mode, but it also automatically turns off while watching tv - be it samsung tv, youtube, netflix, amazon prime, etc. this appears to be a systematic flaw as we had this tv for only 4 months at this point. conclusion: this is a beautiful looking expensive garbage that fails at the core functions as a tv.

this tv looks wonderful. the picture is awesome and the art mode looks even better. however, after about two months, half of screen started experiencing discoloration (see photo). samsung customer service set up service with their contractor as it was under warranty. however, it has been 3 weeks since i contacted customer service and the tv has still not been fixed. their contractor service has already rescheduled their service twice, once after the technician called to let me know he was on his way. i assume the tv will be fixed eventually, however i have significant concerns about the longevity of the tv if we are already having to open it up and replace parts on a brand new tv. this is not consistent with my previous experience with samsung products or the hefty price tag on this tv.
